What should you expect in this ultimate sherry wine bodega tour?

This sherry wine bodega tour is a private full day tour experience. You will enjoy private tours in three bodegas (wineries) around the "Marco de Jerez". Enjoy several sherry wines from each region, and 6 VORS over 30 years old in two of the three cellars. You will even try sherry wine straight from the barrel!

Chiclana

We will be picking you up at 9:00am from either Vejer de la Frontera or Jerez de la Frontera. Your guide will take you to our first winery in Cadiz province, in Chiclana de la Frontera. It is found within the "Marco de Jerez" and is the perfect place to understand the whole sherry process. From when the grapes arrive up to when they finish in the "bota" (barrel).

Sanlúcar de Barrameda

We will head to the famous city within the Cadiz coast near the national park of Doñana, Sanlúcar de Barrameda. On the way we will be able to enjoy views of the vineyards and see the vines. As well as observe the famous soil "albariza", high calcium soil that produces the best grape juice.

Enjoy touring a Sherry winery, where the guide will tell us why they are different from the "bodegas" in the other two cities of the Sherry triangle. The guide will show us around privately while tasting several wines straight from the cask (bota). In this cellar you will taste 3 VORS (over 30years old). Only three cities are allowed to age Spanish Sherry. Sanlúcar de Barrameda wineries not only have DO. Jerez-Sherry-Xérès but they are also under the D.O. Manzanilla.

At lunch time we will eat local Cadiz and Andalusian food, such as "salmorejo", "tortillita de camarones", "pescaíto frito", "gambas de Sanlúcar", with a sherry wine or a non-alcoholic drink, in the heart of this beautiful coastal city.

Jerez de la Frontera

On the way to our last Spanish Sherry Bodega at the capital of the D.O. Jerez-Sherry-Xérès, Jerez de la Frontera, we will stop to enjoy the views of a vineyard on its famous Albariza soil and talk about why this soil produces the best palomino and moscatel grapes. In Jerez de la Frontera, we will enjoy learning more about the origin of Sherry and Brandy. We will try 3 VORS and two over-12 year old wines, some will be paired with traditional desserts produced from the nearby convent.

Drop off will be at your pick up point after enjoying our last sherry tasting at around 16:30pm in Jerez de la Frontera. Arriving at Vejer de la Frontera, 17:30.
