What should you expect?
This tabanco tour in Jerez is a 3 hour tour experience visiting 5 different tabancos in a private group tour. With just you and your family or friends, you can experience the tour in a much more personal way. We try to limit the group size to 8, but please contact us if your group is bigger. My name is Carlos, and I will meet you in front of the tourism office in Jerez de la Frontera to start your tabanco tour. I am a local foodie, love local food! I am knowledgeable and passionate about local food and wine and am wine-certified (WSET Level 2).
You will learn the process to how to produce Sherry, all the different types of sherry, how to do a wine tasting, local cuisine and explain about wine and food pairings. Expect to hear about local traditions and cultural anecdotes through each of the tapas, and it will tell part of the culture and history of Cadiz province.
What is included?
This tour includes 5 sherries, 5 tapas and a wine certified guide. Taste a variety of local tapas such as anchovies in vinegar, Iberian ham, patatas aliñadas, bull’s meat, pig cheek, salmorejo, menudo, chicharrón, red pepper filled with local cheese, etc. Some foods will depend on the season. Come hungry, leave full and happy!
Frequently asked questions
Luckily, we are in an incredibly sunny region where rainy days are infrequent (July averages only 1mm of rain in the whole month!).
However, if there is heavy rain on the day your tour is, you can choose a couple of options. Either continue with the tour and we will do the tastings inside, or you have the option of rescheduling to another day or time where there is availability. We will contact you in the event your tour will be changed.
