Best places to stay in Cadiz city depending on budget

There are so many great small hotels and guest houses in Cadiz city, it is hard to say which are the best. The list is divided into luxury, moderate and affordable hotels. Most of the accomodations below are in the downtown of Cadiz. We have also written a blog with the best restaurants in Cadiz city if you are interested.

Cadiz city is the oldest city in western Europe. Founded by Phoenicians, Cadiz’s power peaked during Roman times and again in the 18th century when they moved the House of the Indias to Cadiz from Seville.

Unlike other tourist locations, there are no enormous Holiday Inns or Hilton hotels shadowing the city. The hotels and guest houses are locally-owned, authentic and charming, a perfect pair for a stunning historical place. The number of hotels, however, can be overwhelming to choose from. These hotels in Cadiz city are some that ourselves and our guests recommend (prices are based on high season costs):

Luxury high-end hotels in Cadiz city (>150€)

Hotel Casa Cánovas

Designed by Luzio interior design studio, together with the owner Ninfa Delfín, they bring to life ten rooms with their own personality distributed over four floors.

This hotel features big rooms surrounding an interior courtyard of a traditional Andalusian lord’s home. It is filled with antique furniture with black polished concrete floors, and baroque style heads.

Hotel Áurea Casa Palacio Sagasta

This Casa Palacio Áurea is another gorgeous traditional Andalusian lord house style that has a lot of history. It was the British embassy where they say that Duke Wellington stayed in.

The rooms are very spacious in this recently restored building with an incredible courtyard. The hotel has many amenities to choose from, including a gym.

Hotel Olom

Just in front of the new cathedral of Cadiz, you can find this beautiful hotel, very centrally located. It has an infinity pool at the top of the terrace with incredible views.

They also have a restaurant which is within my list of best places to eat in Cadiz city.

Parador de Cádiz

Of course the Parador must be in this list. I love the Paradores anywhere in Spain, but this one is slightly different.

It is a modern building which is opposite to the normal Parador hotel in Spain. If you are a lover of design, the Parador de Cádiz will fascinate you. It is a modern jewel with stunning views of the bay from any point: its terraces, its open-plan rooms, its exclusive swimming pool and its relaxing spa.

The restaurant and tapas bar will allow you to enjoy exquisite delicacies. Just a stone’s throw from the hotel, you have La Caleta beach, which will invite you to walk along the beach.

Moderate boutique hotels in Cadiz city (100€ – 150€)

Palacete de La Alameda

The Palacete de la Alameda is a boutique accommodation located in the historic center of Cadiz, a romantic and cosy inn where you can enjoy a warm stay in one of the most beautiful and bright areas of this historic city, La Alameda.

This eighteenth-century building was built by the Tavira family, a family of the high society of Cadiz city of the time.

Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres

This hotel from mid-18th century is a perfect example of a house for the high society families who received lots of riches from the trading with South America. If you look at their four towers on top you will understand the name of the hotel, used at that time to spot their ships in the port and to send them commands through flags.

All the rooms are named after important sailors from the 18th century and it has been beautifully restored.

Plaza Mina Suites by Luxury suites Cadiz

You can find Plaza Mina Suites in the heart of the historic center of the city.
The origin of the building dates back to 1888, being the palatial home of a family of merchants.

In 2021, they completed the restoration in which the original architecture has been respected, incorporating, of course, the comforts and accessibility of the twenty-first century to one of the most unique buildings.

They have 13 apartments ranging from 37 to 61 m², and a great terrace at the top of the hotel.

Good value hotels in Cadiz city (<100€)

Hotel Soho Boutique Columela

Even though this hotel is more like a chain, with different hotels in Spain, it has a great location, design and value.

Located in the old town of Cadiz, this hotel offers you the most modern amenities you can find. In addition, it is close to the Plaza de Las Flores, the Cathedral and the Central Market.

Hotel Soho Boutique Cádiz

Same as the hotel above they value the charm, tradition, modernity and a lot of art. You will find these values at the Soho Boutique Cádiz hotel. It features a beautiful Cadiz palace house in the heart of the historic center of the city.
