Traditional tapas of Cadiz’s food in Jerez de la Frontera

In this section I will recommend traditional places where you can eat great local food with the local wine, sherry wine.
I will start with my favourite tabancos, if you want to see the whole list click here:

1. Tabanco el Pasaje

This tabanco is the oldest tabanco still working in Jerez de la Frontera. It is a great place to enjoy some local food with sherry and a flamenco show. The best way to enjoy it, as it gets full during the flamenco shows, is to book a table ahead of time. If you spend a minimum of 30€ per person you can book a table. This place has a very small kitchen so it does not have any dish that is very labourious. However you go there for the environment and the tapas of charcuterie.

2. Tabanco las banderillas

This tabanco has great local produce with a kitchen that focuses on traditional food. Enjoy from stews, to charcuterie to fresh fish and seafood with a nice wine. Go early as it gets really full and hard to find a place to sit.

3. Tabanco Plateros in Jerez de la Frontera

This tabanco is a new tabanco in Jerez. Their plates are a little bit more modern but still using local produce and some traditional dishes of Cadiz. It is a good contrast with the previous two.

This newer restaurant has a delicious tasting menu and it is adjacent to one of the best hotels in Jerez de la Frontera, the hotel Palacio Maria Luisa. The presentation and the taste of each plate has been very well cared for. The cost is higher but well worth it.

8. La Carboná restaurant in Jerez de la Frontera

This place is just one of my favourites. If you love sherry wine and love food this one is a great place for it. The restaurant is in an old sherry wine bodega and they have a tasting menu paired with sherries starting from only 75€. It has great value compared to similar ones.
